I recently read the gentle and melancholic "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer and found the phrases like "heavy boots" so apt and beautiful and easy to use in my life. The tambourine playing Oskar's Stuff That Happened to Me scrap book has inspired my own Stuff That Happened to Me scrap book (blog section). I can't decide which one to post first - my heartbreak - my loss - my win - my success...I just feel like the first one will be really important and set the tone for the rest

my weakness fashion week
Anyone who know me knows that my favourite time of the year is when Fashion Week comes around...any fashion week! My whole life is consumed with nothing but talk of clothes, shoes and general fashion for those four days, which actually isn't very different from any other time in my life because I generally manage to bring fashion into every discussion, even when the discussion doesn't include me.

My favourite show this time round was Abigail Betz. In general I am a huge fan of her work and only dream of her making my third wedding gown, but this collection had me near to tears. Perhaps it was my new found emo-ness, but I found the romantic and Parisian inspired show absolutely breathtaking. All I wanted to do as I watched the show, was board a flight to Paris, sit in the corner of some tiny bistro at a small candle lit table and look into the eyes of an "Aleksandr Petrovsky" type man, because my theory is that those kind of experiences are always better with an older man who's done everything and can show you everything. My story however, won't include the slap on the face or me waiting in hotel rooms, but will include that majestic multi-layer seafoam Versace gown.
