I was really surprised by how much I loved New York. Every time I listed potential holiday destinations, New York always fell short of the top five list, for no other reason than the fact that I felt like I knew what it was all about because of all the American television and culture, from music to fashion to food, I am constantly immersed in. I never expected to see so much and learn so much all at once. I never expected to leave New York feeling like I want to do stuff and get stuff done. I never expected to leave New York wanting so desperately to go back.
Of course I am aware that a huge part of why this trip was such an experience is because I shared it with such incredible people, and that there is no way I could ever relive or make the next experience and the next anything like this one, but there is something to be said about how incredibly alive New York City is and how the feeling of anonymity partnered with the fact that there is so much to do is refreshing and all at once overwhelming and inspiring.
