Mutta shoes at STR.CRD

Ok… Now for a brief history regarding STR.CRD and I.

In 2010 when STR.CRD took over the Cape Town Station in Cape Town, South Africa I was there, working as project manager, producer and art director on the event. I got to meet sneaker icon Bobbito Garcia and customiser extraordinaire Alex Nash aka Nashmoney as well as witness the first ever street culture event occur in  South Africa.  I knew that freezing day in Cape Town that this festival could only get bigger and better and as you will see later this month it has.

A couple of months ago whilst on a trip to Europe, STR.CRD founder Hardy McQueen put me on to MUTTA Shoes; an independent project of crafted footwear founded in 2010 by Brazilian product designer 22 year old Matheus Simões Pires.
Made in a series of craftsman studios and small factories in small quantities; each MUTTA shoe is about quality, originality and uniqueness and are in the words of Matheus “something classic, crafted with an experimental feel. ” On the 28th and 29th of September 2012, South African’s will get to see what MUTTA is all about at their pop up space at STR.CRD: where you’ll be able to purchase and place orders for your very own bespoke pair of shoes from MUTTA.

All MUTTA Shoes are made on demand and production takes up to 30 days.
All available styles can be viewed and purchased on their web store here: http://store.muttashoes.com.br/
