13 Feb Love: Rain Urban Boutique Spa
Aaaah February, the month of love. Love lost, love found, hopeless romantic love and loving yourself… And with Thursday around the corner, the perfect Valentines Day would involve me heading on back to Rain Urban Boutique Spa for their amazing one hour customised organic facial using Esse products.
Having never had a facial before in my life as a result of being blessed with skin that didn’t really need that much attention (until my late twenties that is), organic was definitely the route to go because my skin reacts to a lot of products. Rain facials are certified organic, which means there no funny chemicals you can’t pronounce used on your skin, and for someone like me, it means peace of mind that I won’t walk out and minutes later find myself with a skin reaction that warrants a weekend in.
For my facial, organic skincare range produced in South Africa, Esse was used. There isn’t much I can say to describe what my skin felt like after my facial, except that it felt fresh, hydrated and alive. As a new fan of Esse and the organic facial, I walked out of Rain with an Omega Deep Moisturiser and my absolute favourite thing in the world right now the Esse Cocoa Exfoliator. When it was applied to my face I literally felt dead skin cells gently coming off and as more water was mixed in with it, I felt my skin soak it up and spent the rest of the treatment wanting to eat my face because of the smell.
Opened in November 2012, Rain Urban Boutique Spa is new women’s-only beauty and wellness spa in Rosebank, Johannesburg. Citing customer service as their defining factor, Rain Urban Boutique Spa offers customers choice and variety in their approach to spa treatments. From fully customisable massage treatments where you select for example, a one hour customised massage, made up of a 30 minute Indian Head massage and a 30 minute foot reflexology massage, all at the same price; to bespoke manis and pedis where you can pick from the selection of scrubs, body butters and so forth; it is really easy to see why customer service is at the core of what they do.
Oh and the best part… as if there could be more.. Rain is open seven days a week from 9am to 6pm and…and…and, get this on Fridays they are open till 8pm because there is simply nothing worse than rushing through your day, skipping lunch etc to fit in a spa treatment in.
*Rain Urban Boutique Spa is now called Swani Women’s Boutique Spa
