i am obsessed with black coffee’s safw summer 2013 collection

Last night was the first night of SAFW’s summer collections and long story short, I am not sure if I want to attend any of the other shows after seeing Black Coffee’s summer 2013 collection, because it was exceptional. I am genuinely afraid I will sit there tonight and tomorrow night comparing the other designers work mercilessly to the perfection that was Black Coffee’s collection titled Imprint.
Made up of beautiful, form fitting mesh garments adorned with hand rendered patterns created through appliqué (a needlework technique in which pieces of fabric, embroidery, or other materials are sewn onto another piece of fabric to create designs, patterns or pictures), Black Coffee’s collection was literally a work of art. The show opened with two dancers from V.I.N.T.A.G.E Dance crew walking down the runway dropping beautiful yellow petals creating the carpet that would perfectly allow what I can’t believe I saw with my own eyes last night. It’s very hard to explain the attention to detail and immaculate finish that each garment I saw last night had, so here are some images courtesy of Ivan Naude from Planet Ivan from Black Coffee’s amazing collection Imprint.
