24 May Interview: Vie Arem
Where do I start when talking about my friend Vie… She is a mother, a fashion entrepreneur, a friend who keeps it one hundred, one of the funniest people I know and she can basically imitate anyone to hilarity. On top of that, she is fiercely intelligent and whenever I am in a highly stressful situation I channel my “Inner Vie” by keeping calm, using big words and maintaining eye contact whilst saying things like “I am just playing Devil’s Advocate…
This week’s #FF goes out to @VieArem, follow her on Twitter and read about her fashion life and travels on her blog VieMyselfAndI here.
Q: Do you own anything that you absolutely can’t get rid of?
A: I do – I have this original 1980s vintage denim jackets with studding I bought at a thrift store about 4 years ago. I usually sell my clothes or give them away once I lose interest in them but this was such a rare & exciting find that even though I don’t wear it much anymore I just can’t get rid of it.
Q: Where is your favourite place to be?
A: On a plane (preferably in business class) going somewhere new or exciting.
Q: What would you like to be good at?
A: Remembering stuff and doing my own hair.
Q: How do your clothes and your style connect to your lifestyle?
A: I’m very lucky to work in an environment that celebrates creativity and individuality so fortunately my style is not hampered by that.
It’s all a big mash-up of; functional & comfy (for the mother in me), sexy but unavailable (for the wife) and somewhat unconventional & risky (for the fashion lover). Does that make sense? I hope it does.
Q: What makes you happy?
A: Love. Being in love. Seeing others in love. The love I feel for my son. The love I share with my friends. All types of love make me happy.
