One size fits all when it comes to accessories

In March 2014, unsuspecting fashion obsessed South African’s will be lured into Woolworths stores with the addition of Australian brands Witchery – formally at Stuttafords – and accessories and footwear brand Mimco to the Woolworths family. As if I am not spending enough money on Country Road at Woolworths, I have already mentally prepared myself to accept that offer from Woolworths to increase the credit limit on my Woolies card. (I can never deny my shopaholic tendencies post this blog post. So when you see me in a shopping mall shopping bags in tow, pay no mind to me when I deny them and claim I am sourcing for a shoot or a client).

Whilst I am excited about Woolworths being Witchery’s new home, so I can use my Woolworths card, I am even more excited post the Woolworths launch event about Mimco. Not only will shopping accessories mean smaller shopping bags, which I can sneak into the house without anyone noticing, but accessories like shoes are the best-friends of girls with fluctuating weight problems like me because, simply put, they will never not fit you.

As an iconic Australian accessories brand, Mimco is at the forefront of delivering accessible luxury with its quirky designs and statement pieces.  Statement pieces are my favourite things in the world, especially when they come in the form of a piece of jewellery or handbag, because they have transformative powers. They can take a boring-ass all black ensemble from boring to not so boring, which is where the value of the said accessory comes into play.

Created for desire, because let’s face it, no one needs beautiful accessories, some of Mimco’s pieces like a necklace I spotted at the launch can be worn as separate neck pieces by simply detaching the one from the other or together for one big bling fest on your neck. How’s that for value?

Mimco will have standalone stores at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and at Sandton and Hyde Park in Johannesburg, and will be available at Woolworths V&A Waterfront and Cavendish Square in Cape Town, Gateway in Durban, and Eastgate and Sandton in Johannesburg.
