13 uses for Coconut Oil

I don’t know about you, but if someone listed coconut oil as one of their favourite things of 2013, I would think, “damn, this person doesn’t really have much going on,” but I swear on my life that once you invest in coconut oil and all of a sudden you aren’t purchasing multitudes of products because you can use coconut oil for everything – you’ll thank me.

Imagine a life where you could use one product to cook, remove eye-make up, deep condition your hair and apply as a moisturiser with low SPF properties? I literally just sounded like an informercial there, but honestly I could sell the ish out of coconut oil, because I actually use it for all those purposes and more.

Here are my top 13 uses for coconut oil, also known as the ultimate all in one product…

1. Eye make up remover

2. Full body moisturiser

3. Leave in conditioner for hair

4. Lip balm: A light dab will do. There is no need to look like you just ate some oily fish and chips

5. Hand moisturiser: Almost as good as Burt’s Bees Hand Salve

6. Cooking oil

7. Shaving lotion: Close shave and moisture all at the same time

8, Face cream: Don’t be deterred by the shine upon application. Minutes later your skin will have the right amount of healthy glow (not glisten) and not be shiny at all, but still super hydrated

9. Body scrub: The only time just adding sugar is applied to my life, as I try cut out sugar and get used to sugarless coffee

10. Bath oil: Soak  in some warm water and coconut oil for some added moisture

11. Scalp treatment: I base my scalp with coconut oil

12. Dry feet moisturiser: Just mix with salt and rub on feet for exfoliation and moisture

13. Very light sunscreen: Coconut oil provides a minimal coverage  of SPF 4… I had to get to 13 uses 😉

    Hey Vintage Lover

I am not entirely sure about Cape Town, but I am sure you can get coconut oil from any organic / health store and from Dischem – which is where I go this tub from.
Let me know if you find any more uses for coconut oil!
