My denim collection is increasing at a serious rate and I think that part of the reason why it has become easier to buy denim jeans is because I have completely accepted my body shape and when I go out and look for jeans, I am fully aware of my actual physical shape. It’s a journey Yo! One that can be a really emotionally draining as I wrote in my article for The Times titled Jean Blues: Denim’s Make Me Cry because the reality is: before I found my fit and accepted my body when shopping for denim jeans, buying jeans would reduce me to tears of sorts.
Part of what used to devastate me so much about having a complex about wearing denim jeans is the fact that I have always believed that denim is the most versatile of fabrications and it was a sore point for me that I couldn’t live out my fantasy of wearing a pair of blue denim jeans and a white vest. I wrote all about denim’s incredible versatility in my Live in Levi’s post earlier this week, because really there is no other fabrication that can go so easily from day to night and casual to glam when worn and styled up correctly and that can only get better with time if it is good quality authentic denim.
I am currently obsessed with pairing these G-Star RAW skinny denims with almost everything, especially my printed Missshape jacket. You literally can’t go wrong with dark denim skinny’s. It’s like an essential.
