Travel Tip: Get UBER

teeteeiswithme uberThis is not a sponsored post and I didn’t really plan on writing about this, but then I got an email in Dutch from UBER Amsterdam and it made me remember how UBER literally made my life and Tumi Mohale’s life easier in Paris and Amsterdam.

When you travel to a city, you should do things like research the public transport systems, figure out where and how to buy tickets or whatever to use those public transport systems. But every once in a while, you are off to dinner at Ralph’s in Boulevard Saint-Germain,  and catching the metro from Le Marais is just not a viable option because you are wearing a pretty dress, a pair of heels and a full face of make up. In fact, it just makes sense that you would be dropped off outside Ralph’s  in a black vehicle. That is when you order an UBER. Or, you are at a hip hop party in some club in Amsterdam shockingly drunk after drinking and dancing at a hipster-esque gallery opening function and dancing your face off in the club. You are not entirely sure where the said club is because you followed all the people you were with. The last thing you feel like doing is thinking, so the easiest and most convenient thing to do is order an UBER.

If you haven’t signed up for UBER, do it. You never know when you’ll be stuck without cash somewhere and need to get home. Use my UBER promo code, 5v93k and get R90 off your first UBER ride.

Post all the over-utilising of UBER abroad, I have taken to using the service more regularly here in SA because there really is nothing worse than driving home after an evening out of drinking.  New life goals are centred around responsibility folks and being a grown up.

Absolutely agree. Used it recently in LA & it made life so much simpler. I would suggest using UberX though. Not as steep, particularly considering exchange rates, and cars comfortable. One doesn’t always have to do ‘black car’.
