25 Nov G-Star RAW Women’s Night
Finding a pair of jeans, can be hard if you are not sample size, as I wrote in my article for The Times newspaper earlier this year. In all sincerity the article (which you can read here) was somewhat a retrospective one; because by the time the words were published I had managed to find several pairs of denim jeans that fit ME well and I had increased my denim jeans count from zero to six in one year.
When I wrote my article for The Times, I asked some of my friends and women I ran into whilst hanging around the mall about how they felt about denim, finding a pair of denim jeans that fit well and the shopping experience one has when shopping for denim jeans; and whilst they might not have all said “denim jeans make me cry” like the title of the article I wrote, they conceded that the search wasn’t as easy, as let’s say buying a dress.
This Thursday, professional Dancer for Die Antwoord and one of Glamour Magazine’s Top 10 Glamourous Women of 2014 Tarryn TNT Alberts and I will be hosting a Women’s Night in association with G-Star RAW at the Sandton City Store. As real women – with real bodies – Tarryn and I have different denim journey’s and look for different things when we go out to buy denim jeans. On Thursday 27 November we’ll be sharing our stories, talking about denim, whilst hanging out listening to DJ Doowap, drinking, eating, enjoying the company of other women and of course shopping. If you would like to attend the event, drop me an email on firstname.lastname@example.org.
