Visit Africology at The Zone

Africology The Zone RosebankTime is one of those things I seem to be short of, so you can imagine how elated I was to mix business and pleasure when I went in for a complimentary Gratitude & Love Treatment at the Africology at The Zone at Rosebank. Running until the end of May, the Gratitude & Love Treatment is a 90 minute treatment package that was conceptualised as a Mother’s Day package; but I reckon it’s the perfect package for any busy woman – mother or not – to get some quick and effective R&R into her week.

I know the idea of a quick and effective R&R sounds completely ridiculous; but with everyone’s schedules being so busy, this combo treatment; made up of a full-body crystal massage and deep cleansing facial; is just that and if you have it at the Africology at The Zone at Rosebank; it’s also really convenient because of how central The Zone is. Even though it is nestled in a mall, the Africology Spa at The Zone at Rosebank feels completely removed from all the goings on in the mall. You experience immediate tranquility when you walk into the spa and if you park right in the right place you can meander straight to your vehicle without being bothered by much after having your treatments done.

My experience began with a high tea as I filled in a form, where I stated that the main thing I wanted to get out of the treatment was to relax. The therapist considered this request and chose oils with that in mind as she performed the full-body crystal massage that left me almost unable to move afterwards because I actually felt all the tension leave my body. The massage was followed by a deep cleansing, renewing facial; which left my skin glowing immediately after the facial via some uber deep exfoliation which I am generally lazy to do in my regular life. I spent the rest of the day in an exceptionally good mood. Traffic and load shedding tried to ruin my day; but with the tension released from my shoulders and my skin looking like what I imagine “dew” and “spring” would like if it were skin; I couldn’t allow myself to be phased.
