What I Wore: SA FASHION WEEK SS 16 Day 3 & 4 [Monochrome]

monochrome SAFW Day 2

For Day 3 and 4 of SA Fashion Week I unintentionally stripped it down and ended up in back to back monochrome outfits that prioritized comfort and simplicity.

Day 3, I transitioned a summer staple – my white Missguided scallop hemmed dress with a low v neck line – into a winter friendly item by putting on a black turtleneck underneath it. I never really believed it before, but this particular Fashion Week, I heard so many stories from people about how they spend a fortune on buying new outfits for Fashion Week. My response to that… is that you should have a wardrobe at some point in your life that you can wear all the time, that you can style up and style down and transition from season to season… This is literally why my YouTube videos are focused on how to wear 1 item more than one way. Can’t wait to share my “How to wear your summer favourites in winter” YouTube video next week.

Day 4 marked the beginning of SAFW Menswear Collections. In the spirit of menswear, I really wanted to dress like the tomboy I am and have always been. Even when I girly it up, I always try to add something masculine to my looks so that I can feel like me in my clothes. In head to ankle Witchery, I finished off the look with my Air Force 1 Ultra Flyknits, because I could think of nothing more fitting in terms of footwear than the comfort of the AF1.
