My Double Cleansing Spot Clearing Skin Care Routine

I have always been really spoilt when it comes to my skin. I made it through primary school and high school with only one pimple on record, whilst my sisters begged my father to put them on Roaccutane.  Whilst I was under a lot of stress during university my skin pretty much remained clear and bright, even though I didn’t treat it very well. From the late nights, to the excessive partying and absolutely no make up removal before bed, this should have been the worst time for my skin, but I still managed to maintain fresh faced and spot free skin. I want to lie and say I drank a lot of water…

Fast forward to adulthood, my skin has decided to have periodic breakouts and I can no longer get away with thinking that drinking water will fix everything. Acne treatment related products, double cleansing and removing my make up every night before I go to sleep have become part of my daily skincare routine.

Even though I don’t wear a tremendous amount of make up everyday, I remove my make up at night before going to bed to make sure I keep my skin as clean and dirt free as possible. As someone who is notorious for being too lazy to remove her make up at night, you would think that I would prefer to use make up wipes, but I actually prefer to use cleansing oils or oil based cleanser to completely remove make-up effectively like Lipidol’s Cleansing Face Oil and Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. Both of these products are super easy to use and as you gentle rub them on your skin with your fingers you can see the make up coming off your face.

Then I follow up that process with a water or foam based cleanser, and in my case I use Pond’s Spot Clear Even Tone Facial Foam. Containing Salicylic Acid, which is an active ingredient present in most topical acne treatment products. Salicylic Acid basically treats acne by unclogging blocked skin pores thus allowing pimples to shrink.

Unlike some other acne treatment related products I tried out, Pond’s Spot Clear Even Tone Cleanser doesn’t feel harsh or leave your skin feeling dry. I think it might be because of the herbal clay formulation, which creates this moisture rich thick smooth foam when mixed with water. On top of all that, this cleanser also contains scrub beads, which gently exfoliate without causing redness, whilst still removing dull and dry skin cells to maintain radiant skin. This is an absolute plus for me, because I am really not into skincare regiments that include too many steps, so a product that combines two important steps in one process is not only practical but effective especially because I can use it everyday. I am also quite obsessed with the fact that the Pond’s Spot Clear Even Tone Cleanser comes in a travel friendly aka carry on friendly 15ml tube.
