Tips on dressing for the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo

The key to dressing up for events like the Veuve Clicquot Masters Polo is finding a balance between elegance and comfort. With ‘Best Dressed’ prizes being handed out, your outfit has to somewhat make a statement whilst also being comfortable enough to wear through a hot sunny day sipping on champers (lots of champers) and walking around on grass gracefully.

After raiding my wardrobe for an outfit and finding several pretty good options in some great black jumpsuits, I ended up opting for this dark floral twin set from H&M because it was more in line with this year’s theme ‘cruise collections.’ With its A-line skirt shape in a dark floral embroidered fabric, this twin set is feminine with a bit of Dolce & Gabbana edge to it.

Quick Tips on dressing for elegant day time events:

  • Opt for an A-line skirt or dress shape. It is a feminine and flattering shape for almost all body types and adds instant elegance to anything, even a white t-shirt.
  • Florals are always a good idea for day time summer events. If you are like me and prefer a bit of edge to your look, opt for a dark floral pattern.
  • Sugary pastels also work quite well for a fresh day time look.
  • Flowy and light is always comfortable and easy to move in.
